Texas Solar Guys added a 30kWh Enphase battery backup setup with a Kohler Auto Start Generator to an existing Enphase micro inverter setup. The original install had 36 – Enphase IQ7 and 12 – IQ6 micro inverters.
With this setup if the grid goes down this setup will be able to run their home on all 3 power sources at the same time. Or, as the homeowner requested, have the generator only turn on when the battery is at 30% charge to recharge the battery and power the house. If more power is needed the homeowner can turn the generator while off grid with a push of a button on the Enphase App.
