Texas Solar Guys installed a 16 – Q-Cell 400watt panels with Enphase IQ-8A micro inverters. This was paired with an Enphase 10kWh backup system with a load controller to allow the HVAC unit to be turned off during an outage. We setup the system so the homeowner could override the load controller to allow the HVAC to run if there was enough sunlight present during a grid failure. A soft starter was also added to the HVAC unit. This system was approved for an incentive thru Oncor’s Rebate program.
